CASHMERE
CLASSY N O T CLASSIC
CLASSY N O T CLASSIC
.x. It was such a peaceful day, something she received very little of lately. Her mind had been boggled down with so many memories that she thought she left behind. Coming to a new place would have been a good idea, because she didn't have to see the same old field she use to graze upon, she didn't have to see anything that reminded her of Jack or Claire. The blue mare trotted, keeping a smooth pace, moving from tree to tree. She didn't know where or when to stop, she didn't know where she was, she knew no one here. Hopefully, she wasn't intruding into someones land... though she never caught scent of other equines in these parts. Keeping her audits perked, she listened carefully to her surroundings. If she heard a crack, a howl, a growl, or any sound of a predator, she'd be running and no looking back. New places made her excited yet nervous. What if she met someone that was just there to simply make her life hell? Or maybe worse? What if she fell in love? Love only happened to so few, and she was very pleased that she found the love of her life when she was young. But she couldn't let herself love someone else. How would Jack feel? Jack's dead now, long gone, but she couldn't erase him just like that. It just wasn't that easy.
.x. Sighing gently, she slowed her gate to a walk. The forest didn't seem to be lightening up any, but that was a good thing for her. Being a blue roan, her darkest colors tend to be closest to black, which attracts the heat. The leaves and branches from the trees help her keep cool during this time of day. Snorting and shaking her cranium, she lowered her maw and itched it before moving on. The leaves crunched beneath her hooves. "Mama, where's papa?" Claire's large blue eyes looked up into the mare's. Cal smiled gently, nuzzling her daughter on the shoulder, "Don't think about it, baby." Cal gave her a warm and reassuring smile before walking on, Claire right by her side. Memories would haunt her forever; Cashmere remembered the look in Claire's eyes when she figured out Jack, her father, was dead. Cashmere couldn't stand to talk about it, but she knew she had to tell Claire sooner or later. And when she did, Claire was furious. That pushed Cashmere into further depression and then Claire passed away. Sighing heavily, Cashmere stopped from walking and closed her eyes, holding her emotions in.
